FROM THE FOREWORD
I originally pre-published this book on December 19, 2012. Before originally designing the cover, I had prayed for God’s guidance. I wanted the cover to reflect the book’s content and the original title of the book itself, “The Great Battle Has Begun”. I then imagined the cover should reflect the ominous times at hand, with St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome being struck by lightening, in the midst of an approaching storm, in evening twilight. The cover was then designed, as I had imagined with the help of divine assistance.
Then, less than 2 months after this book was published, on February 11, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI surprisingly resigned. Providentially, this was also the exact day that the famous and spectacular photographic picture was taken of lightning striking St. Peter’s Basilica in the midst of an ominous storm.
Was the lightening strike (and the perfect-timing picture of it) a sign from God related to Benedict’s resignation as many have concluded or even a double divine sign confirming the message in my book as well? Perhaps both. You decide.

KELLY BOWRING
Dr. Kelly Bowring is a Catholic theologian and popular Catholic speaker, who received his doctorate from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Rome); his licentiate from the Dominican House and the John Paul II Institute (Washington DC) while working at the US Bishops Office; and his masters from Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio). He has the Church’s mandatum to teach theology.
Dr. Bowring has been a dean, chair, and professor of theology at the Graduate School of Theology at St. Charles Seminary, Southern Catholic College, and St. Mary’s College of Ave Maria University.
